The interaction between solvent and solute molecules can modify the molecular structure and optical properties of the medium. This study examines the geometric and electrical properties of a chalcone derivative, 1-{4-hydroxy-3-[(pyrrolidin-1yl)methyl] phenyl}-3phenylprop-2-en-1one (HPMP), utilizing X-ray crystallography data. For geometric properties, nine solvents were investigated using a polarizable continuum solvation model, employing the B3LYP functional and the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set in the Mercury 3.9 program to determine maximum distance values, bond dimensions, dihedral angles, and root mean square deviation. Electrical properties, such as dipole moment and polarizability, were computed using ab initio quantum methods.
